BeelzeRog Episode 42 Adult Video Game Review: My Sexy Neighbor

One of the big problems in the adult games space is finding games with the right types of sexual flavors without something in that mix that you find the opposite of arousing. Other times the problem can be simply finding a protagonist in a pervy game that doesn’t make you feel creepy playing them.
Rini: creeeepppy!
That’s the problem I had with 2025’s “My Sexy Neighbor” by Pocket Rocket Game Studio & Taboo Tales.
Rini: Pocket. Rocket. That’s amazing.
In this first person voyeur stealth game, you play as Tucker,
Video Clip: Comedian George Carlin saying “Tucker”
a 40 year-old single man with a checkered past who has been watching his new neighbor Lola from across the street… through his telescope. Lola decides to come over to introduce herself and later calls Tucker to help her with a kitchen sink leak, complaining things keep breaking in her house.
Rini: Oh, I don’t know how to hold a wrench! What’s a wrench?
Tucker makes up a story of a ladies man who died while having sex in her house and might be haunting it. Lola thanks him with some dinner later, but an accident splays her all over the floor, giving Tucker a good view up her skirt as she isn’t wearing any underwear.
Rini: Are you going to explain that scene?
The fact that dialogue says that she has baked a pie, but they are obviously eating pancakes.
Rini: Yes.
And when he goes to get “the sauce”, it is actually pancake syrup.
Rini: They call it a sauce, S-A-U-S-E.
Video Text: Sometimes misspelled
Rini: And then she slips on the S-A-U-S-E. But who the fuck slips on sticky shit?
Exactly.
Tucker decides to get more aggressive in his interest, using the ghost story to explain the mysterious noises and things disappearing.
Rini: OOOOooooowwww!
And then the story really swings into gear.
I have to get this out of the way first. Tucker
Video Clip: Comedian George Carlin saying “I’m Tucker”
is a self-delusional creep and I really got the hibi-jibbies playing him from the start. His creaky voice made him sound much older than the 40 years he claims to be.

His internal dialogue makes it obvious that this isn’t his first rodeo

and also that he views this all as some kind of elaborate prank that he and Lola will be able to laugh about later, all the while being increasingly possessive of her. Several times he could have stopped before he dug himself deeper, but instead he decides to go even further. And after a certain point, and I’m sure you’ll figure out when that is, I was kind of playing him out of spite, simply because the groundwork was already set that there was something more going on than he was aware of. Mostly because he’s not as smart or clever as he thinks he is.
Rini: Liiiike most tech bros, entrepreneur bros, incel bros… you’re a fucking idiot.
Video Clip: Comedian George Carlin saying “Fuck Tucker! Tucker sucks!”
On the flipside, this game runs on porn logic. Lola, as stated before, doesn’t wear underwear at all under her cheerleader-esque clothes.
Video text: “School Girl” would also be valid.
The other female character, her friend Natale, also seems to wear the bare minimum.
Rini: Liiiiike, what are you talking abooouuut? I, I don’t know what you meeeaaan, ‘kaaay. Her name should be Madiiiisooon with two ‘Y’s. And the other isn’t where you think it iiiiisss.
…the Y isn’t where you think it is…., um…
Lola’s reactions to some of events of the game seem muted, and at one point later in the game, Lola seems simply resigned to what ‘the ghost’ puts her up to.
Rini Against the wall!
Uh, you’re not wrong.
Rini: Ewwww…
The gameplay itself is fun, to be honest, and the main reason I’m even going through with the review. To put it simply, it’s like playing Assassin’s Creed, except instead of killing people, you take naked photos of them. The stealth gameplay is unique and you spend a lot of time trying to figure out ways to get around without being spotted. You don’t have some kind of radar sense or other cheats from stealth games. Instead you have to listen for the sound of footsteps & doors. Crouching offers some ability to stay out of sight and make less noise, but it’s not foolproof. You have 2 ways to get caught. The most obvious way is to be seen. An eye will appear if you are within their sight and slowly open as you are more visible.
Rini: The Eye! It sees me, Sam. I can’t hide from the Eye!”
If you walk right up to them, obviously, you’re busted. Another way is noise. Make too much and people start to investigate. If you get lucky, you can wait them out, but the noise floor will go up, making it easier to fill the noise meter a second time. As you progress, you build up points that you can spend via your computer for things like delays in sound & sight, as well as the ability to jump over fences, climb up drain pipes, and through windows. But just to keep you on your toes, more obstacles are added and you may have to dodge multiple people, so get used to waiting around figuring out patterns.
Tucker takes photos as well as taking souvenirs. The game not only gives you access to the pre-rendered photos and video, but the actual ‘photos’ you take as well, essentially glorified screenshots. You also can replay levels at your leisure to attempt to complete all the objectives if you miss them.
Outside of Tucker, there’s other things to complain about, unfortunately. There is no listing for controls nor can you rebind the controls either.
Rini: See, that would be an automatic *PBLAT* from me.
You get a pop-up at the beginning of the game telling you the standard WASD control scheme, but that’s it. One bit of info that I missed was you need the CTRL button to crouch. The game showed a “CTRL to sit” pop-up, which made no sense at the time. I thought it was for sitting in a chair. And you will need the crouch function in order to complete some of the tasks. Not knowing this meant I got the “Caught 5 times” achievement while trying to figure out how to set down one of Tucker’s supposed “pranks” early in the game.
Rini: Hey, that’s almost as good as me as trying to get out of a ship. And getting lost, and then spending a half an hour just trying to figure out my way to get out of a ship because I have no sense of direction. It’s really bad. I’m sorry.
The dialogue and subtitles don’t match with enough frequency that it becomes distracting.
Video text: This is more of a spelling mistake, but still…
But given the menu languages are English, Russian, Bulgarian (machine translated), and Hungarian (machine translated), I’m pretty sure the developers are not primarily English speakers.
Video text: Unfortunately, my search-fu has not turned up a lot of information.
Rini: Oh, ya think? S-A-U-S-E? And calling pancakes “pie”? I Think You Are Wrong, Sir! Wrong! *rubblerubblerubble*
And there are glitches where you won’t be able to get 100% of the game achievements because of them, even with the ability to replay levels.
Rini: Oh, that’s some good game programming, Lou.
And the use of AI for the logo & Steam store page is disappointing to say the least, especially since the character in the banner doesn’t look much like Lola. They could have done a lot with just a screenshot from the game, because it’s a fairly pretty game.
Rini: Oh, are we going to talk about the voices?
But it also brings to question if the voice acting was AI as well, given some of the strange and stilted dialogue. There’s no listing of voice actors, so one wonders.
Rini: Noooo, we have a voice actor. It’s Babsy!
Video Clip: Natalie speaking in “My Sexy Neighbor”. Babsy speaking in “Grit Porn Video Tape“.
Rini: Babsy makes a return, everybody. Go back to the episode that we reviewed Babsy and whether she was an AI. Well, now we know absolutely she is an AI. Because Babsy makes her triumphant return. She was Natalie.
Rini here is much better at picking out the AI voices. I try to give a little bit of the benefit of the doubt because I’ve hear just some terrible voice acting before. So I’m like, OK, maybe this is just people who don’t English as their first language or something like that. But, uh, yeah, it’s becoming fairly obvious that all the voices were AI.
Rini: So at the beginning, Tucker has a moment that he stutters.
Video Clip: Tucker speaking.
Rini: Usually when you stutter ‘th-th-thank you’. So if you stutter “thank you”, you’d be “th-th-thank you”. But because of the way it’s written, it says T dash th dash thank you. So, of course an AI is going to look at that and not understanding the semantic context of the statement and they’ll say “T-T-TH-Thank you” and that how it comes out. There’s some other oddball things of diction, of paraphrasing, of how, especially… and it doesn’t matter if you are an English speaker or not.
I’m going to go into some deep shit here. All Indo-European languages follow certain grammatic structure. It doesn’t matter what language it is. From Latin to French to Portuguese to Russian to Welsh, even. It follows certain grammatic structures, it follows certain pacings in language.
These, when they speak, especially when you start bringing in certain quirks, they will not follow those language structures. The phrasing will be off, the diction will be wrong. Theee EM-PHAH-sis will be completely ON-off the wrong syl-al-able. Those are just some tips on how to tell, uh, decent English speakers.
And once again! I’m going to go on my soap box, as if I wasn’t already on it. There are literally thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people out there, for all you game devs, that would freakin’ love to voice your game. And will do so for FREE.
Video Text: Or extremely cheap.
If nothing more than to put something on a resume. Go to CastingCall.club and there are literally thousands of people that will be happy voice it. You don’t need AI! Please, support human artists, support human art. I’m hoping there’s some indie game devs out there. Go find some real people. Or get on Reddit. There are Voice This For Free sub. Literally Voice This For Free (actually r/VoiceActingFree ) and you can go throw your stuff up there and you will be inundated with people wanting to voice your work.
OK, I’m stepping down off my soap box, maybe…
There’s another thing, but I’ll talk about it after a word from our sponsor.

Rini: Yay!
So when I booted up My Sexy Neighbor, my first thought was “Did I download the wrong game?” because the setting was familiar. And a few people had even accused the developers of stealing assets. Well, some investigation found that they were using Unity asset “Suburb Neighborhood House Pack (Modular)“, the same as a game I’d tried earlier called “Ten Tek” by Inspite. In that game, you play as a ghost who wanders a neighborhood, a popular theme in several of Inspite’s games, finding photos, and putting found USB drives and CDs into machines,. It’s basically just an FPS game with the clipping mostly turned off, except for the ground & floors oddly enough. It’s also buggy as hell, with birds also ignoring the walls to fly in and out of buildings,
Rini: Ya know, ghost birds need love, too. Maybe you shouldn’t be so critical of ghost birds. I’m just putting it out there.
Characters moving into objects or slowly floating out of place as if the gravity has lost meaning.
Rini: I did that one in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. And I jumped and just kept going up and up and up. And I sat there just out of shits-n-giggles and waited for about a half an hour and, like, the entire globe materialized, it was amazing.
There are no options, no listing of controls, no save system, no clue as to how to play unless you looked at the Steam page.
Rini: That sounds like some good design there, Lou.
And the AI slop is all over the place in the photos and videos. I wasn’t even going mention this game, ever, until the coincidence of the same Unity assets made it too funny not to contrast. Seriously, don’t buy Ten Tek.
Rini: Uh, I wouldn’t buy this game either. Babsy says don’t by this game either.
My Sexy Neighbor, well, there’s so much that I liked, but I’d feel bad recommending it uncritically because of Tucker. If you do play this game, know that you are playing the bad guy, no matter his delusions.

Currently $9.99 on Steam.
Rini: I get why this would be appealing ’cause I like stealth games also. But, the premise could have been a way that’s not nearly so… rapey.
Pocket Rocket Studio has already released My Sexy Neighbour 2,
Video Text: Neighbour?
which was originally going to be the Sandbox mode promised in the first game. My Sexy Neighbour 2 is a more advanced version of the first, going by the demo. This time the conceit is that you’re doing dares from a website and getting paid for it, but with multiple houses, multiple people, and much higher spikes in difficulty . A demo with only one neighbor is available on Steam if you want to try it out.
Video text: Seriously, Neighbour?
I promise to do a video on the sequel soon.
Later!
Rini: Byyyyyeeee!
