Back in 2002, I ended up getting a new computer for a shop that we had just opened.
SCREEN TEXT: Yes, it was a Mac.
As I had some time to kill in the mornings before opening, I bought a few older games to tide me over and even downloaded some nude mods for them.
Rini: So that’s what you were doing instead of working. You were playing video on the iDroid. Oh my God.
Hey, I did work too. One was the original Deus Ex.
Rini: Okay, that I forgive.
The other two releases from the year 2000.
Rini: The year 2000.
Will be the focus of this video. The first being Heavy Metal FAKK 2 by Ritual Entertainment. And the second is Planet Moon Studios‘ Giants Citizen Kabuto. We’ll start with Heavy Metal, which was the sequel to the animated movie Heavy Metal 2000.
Itself a sort of sequel to the original Heavy Metal from 1980.
The name of the game is actually one of the titles considered for the movie until they settled on 2000.
SCREEN TEXT: It was known as “Heavy Metal FAKK2” in other countries.
This game is a third person shooter in the id Tech 3 engine, aka the Quake 3 engine, modified by Raven Entertainment. FAKK 2 tries very much to emulate the Heavy Metal comic style with its various settings through the game’s levels, even with the limits of the id Tech 3 engine.
Rini: (singing) I look like a potato.
You play as Julie, the protagonist from the movie, who is again voiced and modeled after model actress Julie Strain. It takes place 30 years after the events of the film on the planet Eden, which is protected by a force field and a beacon declaring it a FAKK 2 level wasteland. FAKK standing for Federation Assigned Ketogenic Kill Zone, second level. This does not save it from the invasion of the Gith, which attacks the planet looking for the source of its immortality-granting waters. Julie must save her sister, her friends, and her planet from Gith and its various creatures corrupting the planet.
Amusingly enough, the game got higher ratings than the movie did.
Rini: The Gith, kind of like the Geth.
Eh, not quite.
The game is currently considered abandonedware, and you will need to find version 1.02 to run on modern computers.
SCREEN TEXT: You can download patches from various sites, but sometimes you can find it pre-patched.
There is also a mod to download off of moddb.com called No CD Version, which will allow you to play the game without it looking for the game disc, especially since most game computers don’t have disc drives anymore. I mean, I have my copy of the CD, but a fat lot of good it does me.
Rini: We could get an optical drive. They still make them. It’d just be external.
Another mod that’s good to have is HD Menus by yancharkin. Otherwise, the menu screen is a bit teeny tiny when you boot up the game. This will allow you to fill the screen, though it removes most instances of Julie’s voice telling you what option your cursor is hovering over.
It used to be that the nude mods for Julie were scattered all over the place, but XDigitalStyleX collected them and put them on the Nexus under the name Nude Skins Collection.
Now, the problem is that Julie actually changes outfits several times during the game, and each mod only contains one of those outfits. You can use console commands to change outfits, and with some, you’ll need to, but there’s an easier way.
The game’s PK3 files are actually just renamed zip files. Change the .pk3 to .zip to be able to open them up, then place the desired files as you want them. Close it up and rename it back to .pk3.
So I will group the skins with the outfit it can replace. You do have some options to change the outfit number, but some skins don’t work with some accessories, so be warned.
Rini: But what happens if I wanna keep the block boobies?
Well, fortunately, some of the outfits do offer some support, so you can have a reason to have the blocky boobies.
Rini: Playtex Cross Your Heart Polygons.
We’ll start at the beginning of the game with Tanline Skin by Phoeniix. This gives Julie blonde hair, large areolas, and very distinct tan lines, leaving only her boots.
Rini: Do boys like tan lines? Is that a thing? I’ve never understood the tan lines thing.
It highlight that you’re seeing something you’re not supposed to be seeing.
Rini: Oh, kind of like panties.
It kind of outlines “oh, this is where the bikini would be if she was wearing clothes”.
Rini: Gotcha.
Next on the list is Topless Skin by Virtuoso232, where Julie retains her dark brown hair, loses her top, but gives her black underwear, gloves, armbands, and a choker while recoloring her boots.
Rini: Keeping the choker is very important.
Last of the first outfit mods is Witchblade Skin by Orso. This has Julie wearing the organic Witchblade armor of the comic book series of the same name, though showing more than the Comics Code would allow.
Rini: Sexy.
The second outfit is actually a torn up version of the original one, and has only one mod actually made for it with Torn Suit by Magnus. It takes the tears in the original fabric and expands on them.
Rini: Sexy.
After Julie escapes the invasion to find a way to repel the Gith, she changes to her red outfit, also called ZDomina, another skin by Orso. This removes the fabric from the default outfit, fully exposing her crotch and allowing her nipples to peek out over her cups.
Rini: Sexy.
As Julie journeys through the swamp, she gets another outfit, which can be replaced by the Nude Camo Skin by the appropriately named Gith. This removes all clothing except her boots and leaves her with body paint stripes.
Rini: Meow.
The last outfit change is when she goes to take the trials of the We.
Rini: The We?
Yeah, that is the name of the power source that the Gith is looking for.
Rini: Okay, okay, okay, okay.
The first skin on our list is simply called Black Outfit by Magnus, who did the Torn Suit mod. This is reminiscent of the Topless Outfit, only her breasts are bound with leather bands, but leaving her nipples exposed, removing her pants and having garters holding up leather leggings.
Rini: Okay, I’m trying to imagine in reality how that would work. No, not sexy.
SCREEN TEXT: I disagree, but I don’t have to wear it.
Another similar outfit is Goth Wings by Justin.
SCREEN TEXT: I re-numbered the mod to work on the first outfit.
Rini: Sexy.
This time, Julie’s breasts are bound in netting and a leather strap covering her crotch, but not all of her pubic hair. She also has black wings tattooed on her back.
Rini: Ookay. Um….
Continuing with the goth vibe is Netting Outfit, also by Gith, a fishnet top with long sleeves and a leather strap bottom with nothing else but her boots.
Rini: Okay, that’s pretty cool.
Gith then went all out with their Nude Skin, with Julie having nothing on but her boots, though as she gains armor pieces, they show up on her body.
Last of Gith‘s single attempts is Schön Skin. This is more complicated netting top with no bottoms, opera-length gloves, and the boots also having some netting.
Rini: For all that you don’t know, opera-length gloves are ones that go up the bicep.
Gith also worked with another modder by the name of Gruff to create Wet Julie, which renders her almost completely nude except for leather sandals instead of boots and an attempt to put a wet sheen on her body with limited success given the limitations of the game engine.
This skin can only be activated through the console commands. Be sure to turn on the Console by going into the Advanced panel in the Video / Audio settings. Once that is on, hit the tilde button to bring up the console and type
script $player model Julie_wet.tik
and hit Return. This should work on any level, but as I said, it does not always work with the armor pieces.
The last of the outfit mods is a standalone called New Topless Julie by Calzador with a patch by xDigitalStylex. This makes a new model for Julie attempting to make her breasts more natural than the uniboob of most other skins.
Oh, but don’t you have fond memories of the uniboob shelf of Lara Croft and PlayStation 1 days?
It only replaces the first outfit. You’ll need console commands to use it elsewhere, but it can break the armor pieces of the final levels. Other skins don’t work with the model.
The last mod for the game actually changes one of the props in the game, introducing Lactating Statue by Wraithchilde. This changes a statue in the Wind of Spirit level to having liquid coming out of the nipples of the statue over one of the doorways. Firstly, given the art style of the game, it’s a nice touch.
Rini: Really?
Well, it could be worse. Could be a small child peeing.

It is unfortunate that the game is not currently available for sale or that it didn’t receive the sequel it set itself up for. And with the passing of Julie Strain…
Rini: Aw, that’s a shame.
…it looks like it’s only going to be an interesting footnote in gaming history. And on that downer note, let’s talk about ourselves before moving on to a game that still has a small but rabid fan base.

The second game on our list is not abandonware, and that is Giants: Citizen Kabuto, which is available on both GOG and Steam. This is a third-person shooter game with some base building and team mechanics and optional first-person controls. This game also has a multiplayer component, which is still active today.
Rini: Wow, so is it local or something?
No, you can play it over the internet.
Rini: Are there dedicated servers?

You can set up a server on your computer. You can host.
Rini: Wow.
You actually play as three different characters in the single-player story. Baz, the leader of the Meccaryns, a group of British-coded high-tech soldiers whose planetary stop-off ends up being more than they bargained for. Delphi, the rebellious daughter of the Sea Reaper Queen and a magic user. And finally, Kabuto, a giant monster that was created to be a guardian of the Sea Reapers, but is out of their control.
Rini: Rarrr!
The single-player campaign is highly comedic, especially when dealing with the Mecs and the Smarties, the native, dwarfish worker race.
The Smarties are like Minions, but they have more brains, a larger vocabulary, and a variety of accents.
They’re also squishier.
Rini: And cuter. Minions are dumb.
This is an interesting case of not actually needing a nude mod. See, when Planet Moon Studios first designed Delphi, she was going to be topless, only wearing a flimsy wrap around her waist. But they soon realized that they wouldn’t get the coveted T-rating, which would allow them to be sold in places like Walmart, which wouldn’t stock any M-rated computer games at the time.
Rini: I would think that they do now. Do they even sell games anymore?
Yeah, they’re still selling them.
Rini: Okay.

So they patched in a bikini top for Delphi and changed all of the blood in the game to green.
SCREEN TEXT: Obviously not this version.
Rini: It’s like House of the Dead.
And Mortal Kombat.
Rini: Oh, that’s right, they did that for Mortal Wombat, too.
Didn’t do any good. They still ended up with an M rating. They then included a patch to make the blood red again and made it an open secret that if you wanted to remove Delphi’s top, just delete the arpfix.gzp file in the BIN folder. That didn’t stop people from modding Delphi, however.

But to play this game, you’re going to need a patch to get it to run on modern systems. The fan community released their own patch 1.5 after the company stopped making official patches after 1.4.
Rini: When was that?
Like a couple years ago.
Rini: Oh, wow.
Head over to the only place I found with Giants mods and patches, giantswd.org. WD standing for world domination. You can even join their active Discord from there. Anyway, install the latest 1.5 patch and we’ll start with the handful of adult mods available.
To install these mods, you simply need to go to the game’s BIN folder and create an Override folder. Then drop the image.tga files in there. If you decide to change out mods, be sure to remove the old files first because you might end up with a mishmash of textures.
Rini: That might be funny.

So let’s get started with Erotic Reaper by ArlanGoncalves. This attempts to give Delphi more human skin as well as some more strategically placed robes while still keeping her somewhat uncovered. Not sure the effect is right, but hey, they called it erotic.
Rini: Sexy.
Next up is the return of Denadin with Giants Nude Delphai – pink. This gives Delphi a more human appearance along with her skirt being more see-through, having her pubes and labia more visible. This mod isn’t available on giantswd.org and I had downloaded it from someplace I can’t remember anymore, but I recently put it back up on Lover’s Lab so you can get it there.

Modder [Shd]-Arkhad tried their hand at the same type of coloring with Human Delphi skin. This mod resembles Denadin’s, except Delphi’s skirt isn’t as transparent, so we only get some vague outlines.
Rini: Kind of sexy.
Lastly, we have someone who didn’t try to turn Delphi human. Tunned Reaper by Boom is supposed to be a Sea Reaper with tanned skin. This makes Delphi a darker shade of blue-green, much more distinctive against her skirt.
So that’s a trip down memory lane, at least for me. If nothing else, it’s also a case for video game and mod preservation as well. Later.
