BeelzeRog Adult Game Review 35: ARIA Genesis
On April 27, 2025 by beelzerogThere are times when you can’t decide which way to go with a game. Sometimes, a game is an underwhelming mess, but at the same time was obviously a work of passion that really tried to do something big. And that is the case with ARIA Genesis.
Rini: All caps.
By SpiralVortexPlay, ARIA being an acronym for Advanced Rogue Intelligence Assault.
You spend most of your time playing Arielle, an enhanced agent of Gem Co.
Rini: ♪ Truly outrageous, truly, truly, truly outrageous ♪
A multi-planet company run by Harold, a gruff man who acts and dresses more like a slumlord mob boss than an executive. You are helping your love interest, Jeo, another enhanced agent who has incredible powers, but is also dying because he was removed early from the tank imbibing him with Khalei, the source of power for enhanced agents.
Rini: Not midichlorians, just making that clear.
This puts you in conflict with Harold, who also has a thing for Arielle, constantly telling her he’s going to marry her when he’s not trying to kill her.
Rini: Puddin’!
Over the time you play, you will become acquainted with other enhanced agents, like Bri, a young psychic, Maiko, a busty redhead (more pink than read), Phia, a sniper, and Tiffany, a scientist. You end up playing all of these women over the course of the game.
This is a third-person shooter with some vehicle sections. You have regenerating health, so no health pickups. You also have infinite ammo, but you will need to reload your weapon,
Rini: RELOAD!
which for Ariel is a pistol, automatic rifle, and a heavy weapon launcher.
So before I get into the pros and cons of this game, I gotta come clean. I was originally going to make this review a video short for YouTube and TikTok (also RedGifs ) because it was a very flawed game. But as I tried to write up something that would work for the length of a short, around a minute long, the more I realized how much there was in this game and that it deserved a full-length review.
So not to end on a sour note, let’s start with the cons first. All in all, the game feels unfinished, definitely unpolished, like it had to be rushed out the door.
Rini: I’m late for school.
The game frequently hung up, switched to desktop, and sometimes just had weird glitches. Characters clip and get caught on edges. The controls feel a bit soft and imprecise. Driving and flying controls also suffer from the same imprecision and sloth. Some of the skin textures have visible seams, especially on the men.
Rini: I can see that they cared so much.
And the city areas feel a bit empty, needing more buildings closer together to give it a more crowded, dystopic, cyberpunk feel. If nothing else, the strip club must have been built by Time Lords, given how much the outside is smaller than the expansive inside.
The story can be the roughest part because it’s trying to set up moral ambiguity, but it just feels confusing, like how Arielle just seems to go along with everything that happens. Doesn’t help that the audio for the dialogue is usually limited to a word or two in Japanese, and the rest of the dialogue to be read by the player. With the characters having no facial animations or lip movements, only some general body movements.
All of that said, this was obviously an ambitious game made with love. There’s a dizzying amount of content. The main missions include ground assaults, spaceship combat, on-ground mecha combat, and even switching up the female agents you are controlling from long-distance sniping to close quarters combat.
The side content includes earning money by street racing, arena combat against various foes, or just dancing at the local strip club for money.
Rini: Which is, you know, a legit way for a enhanced cybernetic agent to do is to earn some extra scratch by being a stripper. Totally realistic. Not some weird male fantasy. Totally.
I’m feeling put-upon here.
There are collectible magazines to find on various missions, yoga to practice on your mat at home, and several outfits to buy.
Rini: Okay, okay, okay. Yoga? Is it actually yoga? Is she doing like downward dog and shit?
Yes.
Rini: That’s funny.
Some outfits are also unlocked after missions, and you’ll have several outfits for the various women in the game by the time the game is over.
Once the game is over, you have the option to replay levels over and over again, from the spaceship combat to alien encounters, plus the opportunity to find the collectible magazines you might have missed or earn money for that last outfit.
Rini: Hey, it’s one step above Rise of the Tomb Raider, which doesn’t have a “New Game Plus” I’d like to mention.
While I complained about the emptiness of the street, there was an attempt to have bustling streets with people, robots, and vehicles constantly moving around the space. Up in the sky, you can see the march of flying cars moving from one place to another. There are a fair number of ads, both moving and static. Occasionally, you’ll even see trash near the trash bins.
Rini: Can I look in the trash bins?
Unfortunately, I don’t think so.
Rini: See, that always pulls me out of games.
You need a Leisure Suit Larry game where you gotta check the trash cans to find stuff.
Rini: You know, many things can be said about Bethany games, but at least you can look in the trash.
As this is an adult game, there’s a fair amount of spicy content.
Rini: Spicy!
Outside of the anime doll looks of its female protagonists, which getting to the end of the game allows you to have most of them just run around naked.
Rini: Ooh, neekid.
There are a fair amount of options for sex in Ariel’s apartment, the strip club, in a spaceship, and even an out-of-the-way bathroom.
Rini: “It’s even better in zero-G.”
The scenes themselves have the ability to change viewpoints and some ability to change positions. There is regular heterosexual sex, plus some lesbian scenes. Additionally, the collectible magazines have 2D and 3D versions of our heroine. So I’m not sure I can give you a full-throated endorsement…
Rini: BWAHAHAHA!….I’m sorry.
Yeah, that just gets worse and worse every time I say it.
…given its problems. But I do think it is worth looking at, given there are not too many fully 3D adult games available out there. And I’d like to think that SpiralVortexPlay gave it a good shot.
Let me know what your experiences were. And if you think I was too harsh or not harsh enough.
Choke me harder, daddy.
