BeelzeRog Adult Game Review 21: Wild Life Demo

Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to sign up for a tour of the galaxy, explore a new planet, meet interesting people and have sex with them. Such is the backdrop of the demo for the game Wild Life by Candy Valley Network.

Yay!

Set in the far future, after a civil war, explorers are sent out to reconnect with far-flung colonies. One such planet is Kerpal, where the colonists live a primitive lifestyle due to the crashing of their colony ship. A lush paradise, the planet is home to many mysteries, including the random mutations of some of the colonists. Once hitting puberty, they transform into half-human/half animal hybrids named Kerpali.

Now if you thought your puberty experiences were bad, imagine becoming a half-bearded dragon.

Some retain their human intellect and live peacefully with their human counterparts, but many end up turning feral and are a danger to everyone. All in all, the colonists have learned to live in harmony with each other and their planet, but that is about to change with the arrival of the explorers, known as raiders.

In the demo, you play as Max, a pilot for the raiders, who crash-lands in the jungle. Making your way through the beast-filled foliage, where you learn the combat controls, you make it to a nearby village, already in the midst of a Fest of Friendship, a tradition between colonist tribes which involve a lot of drinking, dancing, and sex to encourage not only friendly feelings, but also population growth. Max is challenged by a raider friend to a ribbon collecting contest, since Festival partners will exchange ribbons after intercourse.

It’s a brand new ribbon trading activity. I don’t think we should add that aspect to conventions, though.

Some conventions, maybe. Others, not so much.

Here you learn the system for flirting with your potential partners, both raider and colonists, with the right moves making them receptive to your advances and the wrong moves ending with rejection. These can be as simple as dancing naked or as complicated as completing a hunting expedition. There is also a village to explore, supplies to gather, collectables to find, and character development and other *ahem* ribbon swapping to watch.

Once you have completed the Steam demo game, you unlock a sandbox mode where you play as the other lead character, Maya, a rare Kepali with the ability to transform back and forth from beastial to human form, sprouting wings which allow her to fly around the huge world map.

This game is everything I’d imagine a AAA adult game to be. There is exploration, combat, beautiful visuals, interesting characters and stories and, of course, sex. And not just heterosexual sex. Even in the demo, they show gay interactions as well between colonists and some of the raiders.

It’s just not boring, straight het sex all the time, which is, ya know, pretty cool. I like that. That was nice.

At least from some of the social media post put up by Candy Valley Network, it looks like you will actually be able to see LGBT interactions. As to wether you get to control them or not, we don’t know quite yet. But it does seem that even if you don’t control a character that does that, you will be able to see things like that.

Cool.

It is unfortunate that the sex is the part that is holding up the game development because, while Unreal has tools for building, character interactions, and combat, sexual animations and interactions have to be built by the team from the ground up. But they are definitely doing a good job on that front. The sexual interactions and animations are, well, pretty hot.

They’re pretty good. I give it a thumbs up.

Much of it is helped by the hedonistic music and settings, making it very believable why some of the raiders are talking about staying on the planet for good.

I… yeah, I wouldn’t mind going to that planet, especially the way the things are in this world right now. And the other thing is, from a female perspective…. Remember when we were talking about BoneTown and the whole sex thing?

This sort of thing really tickles, at least in my experience, women’s brains when it comes to sexy. Because it’s not so much that there’s plot, but there’s at least a reason for all the crazy sexy shenanigans. And it’s not just you’re walking along the road and *bam* you’re banging some hot chick. ‘Cause it creates this world where it makes sense in. I think it’s not so much that women have a problem with crazy, sexy shenanigans just happening. Women need a reason for the crazy, sexy shenanigans. A lot of what happened in BownTown did not have that reason. It was just sex everywhere. THIS has a great reason. Sex is actually kinda plot driven and it’s pretty cool. I give it thumbs up.

If you want to check out the game, there are a couple of different options. There is the free demo on Steam, but also more current builds available on their Patreon. The Steam demo is more limited, but also uncensored.

I like the uncensored. Ohhhh *SHLONG* pop!

The Patreon builds are more current, have lots of extras, but also are censored unless you are a Patron at the $10 tier or up level. Personally, I had better luck running the Steam Demo. The latest Patreon build crashed on me several times, but I’m also not running the game on a high-end PC either. I got my best results with the Steam Demo by running textures on Medium, except for Shadows, which need to be on High to give proper coverage.

Those were kinda funky.

Again, not a high-end PC or video card, though not a potato either.

Potato casserole. You know, I can’t say ‘casserole’, I have to say ‘hot dish’. It’s a potato hot dish. Minnesota, oof-dah represent.

Candy Valley is promising much more extensive RPG elements in the game, such as survival stats and crafting, as well as an image studio for you screenshot photographers and a sandbox mode with will allow you to set your own scenes.

Now see, I like that. That is a really cool idea. There’s nothing more encouraging when a game studio is like “Yes, please, here’s our IP, go wild with it. We’d love to see what you guys would make”. I always like that. That’s a nice thing.

And just to bring it over the top, the demo already includes the ability to sync the game to Lovense sex toys, allowing you probably the most immersive game experience that doesn’t require VR googles.

MM…VR Goggles…

Personally, this is what I’ve been looking for in the adult games space for a long time. A game that really includes sex as part of the overall interactivity. One could imagine this level of sexual activity in a “Mass Effect” or “Assassin’s Creed” world where there are many potential partners and many reasons to engage in such activity, for romance or just for fun.
